Then a gesture, tragically judged as too insistent, was enough to make Filippo Claudio Giuseppe Ferlazzo re-emerge all the fury he had inside until he killed the Nigerian peddler Alika Ogorchukwu, beating him to death in the street in the center, in Civitanova Marche. And now he repeats: “I don’t know how it could have happened”.
It is also in the light of his alleged instability that his lawyers will ask for a psychiatric report to prove that that blind violence, committed first with the crutch of the same victim already limping then with his bare hands, perhaps was not something fully aware for the 32-year-old worker: because – they explain – there were problems that have already emerged in the past. According to what has been learned, but the information is not confirmed, his mother would have been his support administrator.
From the cell of the Montacuto prison in Ancona, Filippo apologizes to the victim’s family and asks about his girlfriend. It is precisely because, according to Filippo, she had been annoyed, he reacted with that still inexplicable violence, but it became an incontrovertible truth in the images taken by the cellphones of passers-by. “The peddler persistently begged for alms and even held my girlfriend by the arm”: this was the first reconstruction of him before the mobile phones resumed the massacre in broad daylight in the central street of the Corso di Civitanova. Alika had only asked for alms and Filippo’s reaction was abnormal, violent, perpetrated for four very long minutes, until the peddler’s death. “I don’t know how this happened to me,” says the worker from the cell. On Monday he will have to explain it to the Judge for the preliminary investigation, in the hearing to validate the arrest.
