Elections, Di Maio presents Civic Commitment:

(ANSA) – CROTONE, 01 AUG – Sixty-eight people who were on board a sailing boat were rescued by the Guardia di Finanza a few miles away from the coast of Le Castella di Isola Capo Rizzuto, in the province of Crotone. These are migrants of Afghan and Pakistani nationality, presumably from Turkey, who arrived close to the Crotone coast without being intercepted.

Only later, when they were spotted by Le Castella, a naval vessel of the Guardia di Finanza stationed in Crotone intervened to tow the boat into the port of the city. On board were about thirty families (mostly from Afghanistan) with ten women; twelve unaccompanied minors. The landing operations, coordinated by the Prefecture of Crotone, took place under the supervision of the Immigration Office of the Police Headquarters.

The migrants were then taken by the means of the Italian Red Cross to the reception center of Isola Capo Rizzuto for the identification procedures and to carry out the anti-covid quarantine. (HANDLE).
