Bologna massacre: commemoration at the memorial stone for child victims

Thus the mayor of Bologna Matteo Lepore, at the opening of his speech at the commemoration ceremony of the smallest victims of the massacre at the station 42 years ago, which took place this morning in the park of Villa Torchi, next to the memorial stone that remembers the names of the children snatched from their lives by the bomb at the station. And as in a thread to keep close the memory of what has happened to date, some children of Mader primary schools, (who bear the name of two brothers victims of the massacre) have deposited the crown of flowers of the Municipality of Bologna, in front of the monument, together with the running relays. In the park, seven new trees have also been planted, dedicated to the young victims, on each one a yellow card and a thought.
The initiative was attended by authorities and institutions, among them the vice-president of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Elly Schlein: “An important ceremony, we remember the seven children of that massacre, which is a wound that will never be healed and it is right so, because we need to continue a memory and a commitment aimed at avoiding the repetition of atrocities of this type – he says – we are here with a slightly full heart, next to family members, because the first degree of an enormous process has closed and we will not stop, we will continue to want to shed full light “.
