(ANSA) – CATANZARO, 02 AUG – Two people died and a third was seriously injured in a road accident on state road 106 in the territory of the municipality of Villapiana on the border with Trebisacce, in the province of Cosenza.
For reasons that are under investigation, a truck and a car collided head-on. The impact was particularly violent.
The two deceased people were traveling inside the car together with the injured person. Several ambulances arrived on the spot from the Castrovillari hospital and the health facilities of Cassano allo Ionio and Trebisacce. The injured person was transferred by helicopter rescue to the Cosenza hospital.
At the moment the section of the artery is closed in both directions and traffic is diverted to the local road network.
Anas staff is present on site to manage traffic and to restore traffic as soon as possible. The agents of the Polstrada di Trebisacce are investigating the dynamics of the road accident. (HANDLE).
