Migrants: 600 leave Lampedusa hotspots on the Diciotti ship

(ANSA) – LAMPEDUSA, 03 AUG – The embarkation of the 600 migrants who will leave the hotspot of the Imbriacola district in Lampedusa has begun, aboard the Diciotti ship of the Coast Guard.

They will be transferred to Porto Empedocle. In small groups, escorted by the police, the migrants – priority is given to women, families, minors and vulnerable people – are taken on minibuses and reach Cala Pisana where the Diciotti ship is anchored.

For the evening, the transfer of another 80 migrants who will reach Porto Empedocle with the Cossydra ferry is expected, at the disposal of the prefecture of Agrigento which works in agreement with the Viminale. 151 unaccompanied minors left this morning with the other scheduled ferry, the Sansovino.
