Migrants: 3 women and 1 infant among the 61 landed in Sardinia

(ANSA) – CAGLIARI, 04 AUG – The landings of migrants along the coasts of southern Sardinia continue unabated. Between last night and this morning, 61 people arrived, including three women and two children, one two months and one seven years old.

The first two small boats landed, those with women and minors on board, landed at about 11 pm in the Dune area, along the beach of Porto Pino in the territory of Sant’Anna Arresi.

At 1.30 am a small boat with 12 people on board arrived in the port of Sant’Antioco. A patrol boat of the Air and Naval Operations Department of the Guardia di Finanza intercepted him off the island of Toro and escorted him to the port.

Almost at the same time, another 12 migrants were tracked down by the carabinieri as they were moving away from the beach near the Pinus Village in Pula. The migrants, according to reports to the soldiers of the Arma, would have abandoned the small boat at sea, reaching the coast by swimming. Among them is a pregnant woman, very close to giving birth, who was transported by ambulance to the Policlinico di Monserrato.

Finally this morning a small boat with another 15 people on board landed in the port of Sant’Antioco. All migrants were entrusted to carabinieri and police who transferred them to the first reception center in Monastir. (HANDLE).
