(ANSA) – TRIESTE, 07 AUG – “Fire emergency ended”.
This was announced by Autovie Venete, stating that a final inspection was carried out in the afternoon, which gave a positive result. Therefore, around 9.00 pm, the Duino Nord service area will also be reopened and, to traffic, the entrance of Duino towards Venice in the A4.
Furthermore, from 5.30 pm the fire brigades of the Trieste command are operating with the Bimodal APS, a special fire engine that can circulate on the road and on the tracks, to carry out a reclamation of the areas burned yesterday close to the railway line. The operations are taking place between the station of Monfalcone (Gorizia) and the town of Visogliano in the municipality of Duino Aurisina (Trieste). The reclamation is the first intervention carried out on the railway line using the Bimodal APS of the Trieste command: on board the vehicle, in addition to two VVF drivers, qualified to drive the truck on tracks, there is also an RFI technician. We therefore await the outcome of this inspection which, if it is positive, will allow the reactivation of the railway service, which would restore the regularity situation before the fire. (HANDLE).
