(ANSA) – VENICE, 07 AUG – A cigarette holder, trestles for the high water walkways and metal nets.
But also pieces of pipes, bottles and tires used as fenders by boats, for a total of about 300 kilograms of material. This is what the diving gondoliers recovered this morning who, with the support of the municipal administration, have renewed their commitment to clean up the canals of Venice.
After the success of the previous interventions, which made it possible to recover several tons of waste that had been lying for some time at the bottom of Venetian canals and canals, the volunteers immersed themselves between 7.00 and 9.00 in the waters of the Rio del Vin, in the district of San Marco.
The creator of the project is Stefano Vio, in collaboration with the Municipality, the local police and the operators of the Veritas multi-utility, to whom the collected waste was delivered.
Today’s dive is the fourteenth since the project started in 2019, and it was also the last of the summer period. Among the objectives of the association of gondoliers there is also that of disseminating the initiative in the schools of the city. (HANDLE).
