Elections, Calenda:

(ANSA) – LIVORNO, 08 AUG – He asks for the immediate payment of about 150 thousand euros and, in case of non-receipt of the money, threatens to set fire to the vineyards of the company owned by the Incisa della Rocchetta family that produces the famous Sassicaia wine in Bolgheri (Livorno). Following investigations by the prosecutor, the carabinieri of the Livorno investigative unit denounced a 47-year-old computer scientist from the province of Trieste. The investigations of the carabinieri began towards the end of March after the company management had reported to the military the receipt of a series of threatening messages sent by e-mail with which an unknown criminal organization informed that they had the very expensive goods under fire and facilities of the winery. Specifically, the company’s top management and owners had been requested to immediately pay 150,000 euros, to be carried out using a non-traceable procedure and therefore through particular websites in which to carry out transactions to transform euros into Bitcoin digital currency. The 47-year-old would have used several anonymous e-mail accounts, created by providers with servers certified abroad, precisely to inhibit their identification and localization.

The investigations ended as soon as it was possible to acquire evidence that would lead the man to be responsible for the attempted extortion. According to what emerges, the 47-year-old is already the subject of investigations conducted by specialized police offices also of other EU countries, as allegedly responsible for extortion threats directed at other Italian companies, mainly active in the production and marketing of food.
