Smallpox monkeys: 23 cases in Piedmont, 17 from other territories

(ANSA) – TURIN, 08 AUG – Piedmont, having not registered a high number of cases to date – in all there have been 23, of which 17 imported from other territories – is not among the first four regions to which the Ministry of Health sent vaccines for preventive purposes. It emerges from the weekly meeting of the Dirmei (Inter-company Department of Infectious Diseases and Emergencies), which is carried out to take stock of the epidemiological and vaccine situation on Covid 19.

The topic of the monkeypox vaccine was also discussed during the meeting. The Dirmei has already identified the procedure to be ready to start with the administrations, through the regional network of centers for sexually transmitted diseases, in the event that doses are made available from Rome also for Piedmont. The meeting took place in the presence of the president of the Piedmont Region, Alberto Cirio, and the councilor for health, Luigi Icardi. (HANDLE).
