(ANSA) – BELLUNO, 09 AUG – A rock discharge affected, this morning around 8 am, a side of Monte Pelmo, in the Zoldo Dolomites.

The cloud of dust raised by the collapse was noticed from afar in the surrounding areas, in Val Boite and in Val Zoldana itself. The operators of the Val Fiorentina Alpine Rescue went to the site to check the affected area, above all to exclude the presence of people involved.

The detachment of material occurred in the area between the Staulanza pass and the Val D’Arcia fork, and was distinctly felt by the people staying in the two refuges in the area, the Staulanza and the Città di Fiume. None of the vacationers of the two structures had already moved on the day excursions, and no report of disappearance has been made.

The firefighters of the province of Belluno, with the help of the ‘Drago 149’ helicopter which arose from the Venice base, are in turn patrolling the area to make sure that there are no people involved in the detachment of material. (HANDLE).
