(ANSA) – VENICE, AUGUST 10 – A 27-year-old young man who was doing ‘parkour’ on a crane set off the alarm for a suspected suicide attempt last night in the historic center of Vicenza.
The episode took place shortly after midnight, when the firefighters were called to Piazza Matteotti by the Carabinieri, in the construction site of the historic Palazzo Chiericati. The young man had climbed onto the side arm of the construction crane, about 50 meters high, perhaps to take pictures.
After the military had invited him to get off, the 27-year-old went to the extreme tip of the crane arm instead. The firefighters arrived together with the Saf (Speleo alpino fluviali) staff, and once it was ascertained that it was not a suicide attempt, they prepared the recovery of the young man, who in the meantime was in telephone contact with the 118 staff. operators reached it and harnessed it, starting the path backwards, first of the lateral arm and then of the trellis.
The young man, without injuries and in excellent physical condition, was taken over by the Carabinieri after a health check, around 4.00 am. (HANDLE).
