(ANSA) – VENICE, 12 AUGUST – Marino Occhipinti, 57, a former member of the Uno Bianca gang, has returned to prison on the decision of the surveillance office of the Padua court. Sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of the security guard Carlo Beccari (in 1988), and since 2018 in semi-liberty, the man is accused of having beaten his partner. He was thus investigated for ill-treatment, as early as last March. The judge has now decided to revoke the alternative measure to detention, returning Occhipinti to the Due Palazzi prison, where he had been held since 2000 – his detention began in 1994-. At the Due Palazzi the man works for the Giotto cooperative, inside the penitentiary. This activity allowed him to access alternative measures, mostly outside the prison. The relationship with the partner who reported him for ill-treatment began in 2011. (ANSA).
