(ANSA) – MANTOVA, AUGUST 17 – A nurse in the emergency room of the San Pellegrino hospital in Castiglione delle Stiviere, in the Mantua area, was beaten by a patient. It happened on Monday evening and the nurse, later admitted to the Civil Hospital of Brescia, will undergo maxillofacial surgery today.
On Monday, around 7 pm, a man arrived in the emergency room by ambulance. A few minutes later, while the nurse was giving him the electrocardiogram, he suddenly punched him violently in the face. The nurse fell to the ground unconscious.
The patient told the carabinieri that he did not remember why he hit the nurse. The man was charged with serious injuries and violence to a public official. In just over two weeks it is the second episode of attack on the medical and paramedical staff of a Mantua hospital. The first took place last July 30 at the Poma hospital in Mantua where a patient had beaten an emergency room doctor. (HANDLE).
