Shows at dawn in Sicily, also happened in Selinunte (ANSA)

(ANSA) – FLORENCE, AUGUST 17 – The repair, reorganization and cleaning of basements and flooded rooms in Florence in the province with the storm of Ferragosto continue. Among the areas of Florence hit hard, the historic Oltrarno as well as neighboring areas such as Bagno a Ripoli (Florence) with over 100 damaged buildings and streets covered with mud in Grassina and Antella. The budget of the mid-August storm in Florence and its surroundings is rather heavy, even if far from the dramatic one of 1 August 2015. As regards Florence, the biggest problems were recorded between via Romana and via dei Serragli, in the center. The high water sent several traffic lights into a tailspin and blocked the drains, despite the regular cleaning of the streets, resulting in flooding. The subsidiaries Alia and Publiacqua explain that the “cleaning of the drains was completed 15 days ago, but the problem is when such strong phenomena arrive” for which the water flows less effectively. On the Florentine Chianti, where an aqueduct plant in Capannuccia had problems, Publiacqua says, “the critical phase has been resolved. We inserted an emergency generator set and with that the plant started up again. Around 8 pm yesterday water has returned to San Casciano, previously it had returned to Impruneta. Of course we continue to work because the solution of the generating set cannot be the definitive one. We are making various assessments with the most affected municipalities “. No problem, however, with the fountains: “In the city they are functioning – explains Publiacqua -. In San Casciano and Impruneta they are under maintenance, but it is not a consequence of the storm on August 15”. (HANDLE).
