(ANSA) – CATANZARO, 18 AUG – They had structured a system capable of building documents and obtaining accreditation using an ad hoc state entity, the “Antarctic Theocratic State of San Giorgio”, endowed with autonomous sovereignty, to evade taxation and carrying out multiple scams, the organization brought to light by the operation conducted by the State Police of Catanzaro and coordinated by the Prosecutor of the Calabrian capital.
Members of the organization were also exempt from carrying out the Covid vaccine. The alleged offenses are conspiracy, fraud, manufacture and possession of valid false documents, expatriation and money laundering.
Twelve are the people arrested and placed under house arrest and one subject to the obligation of presentation to the judicial police as part of the operation called “The island that is not there”, conducted by the Digos of Catanzaro with the help of the Central Management of the Prevention Police and with the coordination of the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Calabrian capital with the involvement of the Police Headquarters of Cosenza, Genoa, Lucca, Perugia, Padua, Teramo and Trapani and which brought to light the fraud of the Theocratic Antarctic State of S. Giorgio “. The measures were issued by the Gip of the Court of Catanzaro.
The investigation started on 7 April 2021 from a search in a building in Catanzaro indicated as the diplomatic headquarters of the alleged “State”.
