Killed in Croatia, pain in Mantua for Nina

Pnrr, Gentiloni:

(ANSA) – MANTOVA, AUGUST 20 – There is dismay in Medole for the death of Nina Gryshac, a forty-year-old Ukrainian who lived for years in the town of Mantovano, killed in Croatia in Zacchigna (Zakinji), a few kilometers from Umag where she had taken she rented a holiday home with her partner Marcello Passera, a thirty-year-old who is now in prison on charges of having kicked and punched her.

Passera, also from Medole, is in custody for 30 days, that is, until the end of the investigation. The end of Nina made a huge impression on Medole, a small town in the upper Mantua area, at the foot of the morainic hills. For many years in Italy, in Medole she was well known both because she had married a local, with whom she had two daughters, only to separate two years ago. The eldest daughter is 20 years old while the youngest attends the middle school in the country.

Nina was very active in welcoming her compatriots fleeing Ukraine after the outbreak of the war and she also distinguished herself by sending aid directly to her country of origin. After the separation from her husband, she had found hospitality in an accommodation of the Municipality that she shared with some compatriots and she was busy with some housework and as a translator. Some time ago she had started the relationship with Marcello Passera, the son of a school janitor and metalworker; a relationship that according to the villagers had been stormy right from the start. Several messages on the Facebook pages of Medole condemning the murder (“how disgusting some men”) but above all condolences for Nina. (HANDLE).
