(ANSA) – LECCE, 22 AUG – The over-occupation of a stretch of free beach in Salento by some swimmers ends in brawl. It happened yesterday in Torre dell’Orso, marina of Melendugno, in a particularly crowded stretch of beach between two beaches under concession. According to what was reconstructed by the carabinieri, it seems that to heat the minds was the over-sized occupation with umbrella, chairs and towels of a large portion of the beach by a group of Neapolitan tourists who, in fact, would have taken away space for others bathers. A dispute would therefore have arisen between the tourists from Campania and a group of Salento. The quarrel immediately degenerated and a man from Taurisano (Lecce) was hit in the head with an umbrella pole and forced to resort to the 118 treatment.

Investigators are crystallizing the positions of the people involved for which a complaint will be triggered. This is the third fight that broke out in Salento in less than a week.

The other episodes in Gallipoli and Porto Cesareo. (HANDLE).
