(ANSA) – TRENTO, 22 AUGUST – “The request of the Autonomous Province of Trento to include the railway between Rovereto and Riva del Garda in strategic works at national level is acceptable, due to the supraregional and national value of the work and because it is consistent with objectives of Mims “. Thus, the Deputy Minister of Infrastructure Alessandro Morelli, who spoke at a press conference in Trento.
“I believe that what the Province has put in place with RFI will be at the center of the attention of any future government”, added Morelli.
The connection was the subject of a feasibility study carried out by RFI with funding from the Province of Trento, which made it possible to estimate a cost of between 250 and 300 million euros for a 20-kilometer railway. The study showed that the railway could carry an average of 6 thousand passengers a day, with peaks of up to ten thousand users, with economic benefits of 450 million euros for the area.
