A 42-year-old worker was hit and killed this morning while he was cutting grass in a flowerbed on State Road 434 Transpolesana. The accident occurred in the municipal area of Isola Rizza (Verona). The man was cutting grass near a service area and was hit by a van. Along the southern carriageway, in the direction of Rovigo. The aid of the 118 health workers, who intervened with the fire brigade, was useless.

From a first reconstruction by the carabinieri, the driver lost control and skidded, hitting the worker who was working in the flowerbed on the right side of the roadway. The firefighters arrived from Verona extracted the victim still stuck under the vehicle, unfortunately despite the rescue, the Suem doctor had to declare the man’s death. The driver of the van was injured, assisted by doctors and transferred to hospital.
