(ANSA) – NAPLES, AUGUST 26 – Two French tourists were attacked last night in Naples during an attempted robbery. Both had to resort to the care of the doctors of the “Vecchio Pellegrini” hospital but their conditions do not cause concern.

The fact happened, around 3, in the Spanish Quarters. The two were part of a group that was suddenly approached by two individuals aboard a scooter. The gun-toting criminals first exploded firearms (probably blanks) for intimidation and then tried to steal a watch cost from a 32-year-old woman from Paris.

During the struggle, one of the victim’s friends was also attacked – a peer and compatriot of hers – who in an attempt to protect the girl was probably hit in the head with the butt of a gun. Transported to the emergency room of the “Vecchio Pellegrini” hospital, both refused hospitalization and were discharged. The woman suffered a fracture of her left collarbone: she will have to rest for 30 days. The other person, on the other hand, has a non-commotional head injury with abrasions.

The carabinieri of the Naples center company arrived on the spot and found no shells on the pavement. (HANDLE).
