The searches for the two people who are still missing after the wave of bad weather that hit the Marches on the night of September 15 continue in the Senigalli area: Mattia Luconi, 8, who disappeared in the territory of Castelleone di Suasa, and Brunella Schiù, 56 years, swept away by the flood while he was in his car in Barbara.
Last night the carcass of the car, a white BMW 1 series, was fished out of the river near the Burello bridge, between Pianello di Ostra and Barbara: it was very damaged and full of mud, but no trace of the woman. The carabinieri operating on the spot are intensifying their searches today. Still no trace of Mattia either: the firefighters are working with divers both at the mouth of the river and a stretch upstream of the river shaft.
The area is flown over by a fire brigade helicopter. Today a single funeral is planned for the 4 victims of Pianello di Ostra, at the sports field; Giuseppe Tisba, 65, and his son Andrea, 25, as well as Diego Chiappetti, 51, and 84-year-old Fernando Olivi. Last farewell to Trecastelli in the parish church of Passo Ripe for Maria Luisa Sereni, 80 years old.
