What will be told in five episodes of the educational project

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) decided to tell Ukrainians how to fight corruption in an accessible way – with the help of a television series. Together with Transparency International Ukraine, NABU has released the series “From Statement to Sentence”.

What is the “soap opera” about

The series was created in order to explain exactly what kind of corruption the National Bureau is investigating. Therefore, citizens will know who to contact in a particular case, and will not give up in the fight against corruption, because this is our common cause.“, – said the head of the NABU External Communications Department Svetlana Olifir.

“From Statement to Verdict” consists of 5 episodes, each of which tells about the work of NABU and its difference with the work of the State Bureau of Investigation (GBR), the National Agency for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPK), the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAP) and the Supreme Anti-Corruption Court (WAX).

The educational series is designed to clearly show how a complaint about corruption is being processed. With the help of a plot that revolves around a life situation, viewers will find out who to turn to for the protection of their rights, about the investigative jurisdiction of the police, the RRG and NABU. So, the viewer, together with the hero, goes from writing a correct statement, registering a crime and investigating it to being considered in court.“, – says Valeria Ionan, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation for European Integration.
