There is a man strongly suspected in the three murders of women in Rome Thursday morning. Is called Giandavide De Pau and is 51 years old. Based on what has been learned, in his past there are also investigations related to organized crime in Rome and in particular on the Camorra-style clan of the Sienese.
The killer killed Martha Castano, a 65-year-old Colombian, and two Asian girls using a stiletto-type blade.
He was questioned in the police headquarters. He is a person with drug addiction problems. He would be tracked down and arrested at first light in the Primavalle district in Rome. In his past criminal record perhaps also linked to the use of drugs. Among the precedents of Giandavide De Pau, the man suspected of the triple feminicide in Rome, there is also an accusation of sexual violence. For the 51-year-old, according to what emerges from judicial investigative documents, there are also two hospitalizations in the Montelupo Fiorentino psychiatric hospital. Hospitalizations occurred in 2008 and 2011.
“The situation is under strict control and we believe we can say that the community can return to being calmer because there will be no other events connected to these tragic events”. This was stated by the questore of Rome, Mario Della Cioppa in a note relating to the murders in Rome.
The name of Giandavide De Pau, the man strongly suspected of being the author of the triple femicide, was arrived at after a report received by the police from a close relative of his. In fact, the man would have called him suggesting that he had done something serious. In the light of this communication and knowing De Pau’s “attendances”, the relative, perhaps frightened, alerted the police. The turning point in the investigation into the triple homicide it would also be linked to some testimonies collected by the police in the last few hours. In particular, the elements provided by two Cuban citizens and a third person would have directed the investigative activity.
The interrogation. “I remember being in that house in via Riboty with some Chinese girls and stabbing the throat wound of one of them but then I have a blackout and nothing else. I don’t remember being in via Durazzo, I just wandered for two days without eating or sleeping”. This is what Giandavide De Pau, the man strongly suspected of being the author of the triple femicide, allegedly reported during the interrogation that lasted over seven hours at the police station. “After wandering around for two days, I went to my mother and sister’s house with blood still on my clothes. I was distraught and went to sleep for about two hours and then the police came to pick me up around six morning”. This is what Giandavide De Pau, the man strongly suspected of being the author of the triple femicide, allegedly reported during the interrogation that lasted over seven hours at the police station. “Of those moments I only remember so much blood”. This is what Giandavide De Pau, the man strongly suspected of being the perpetrator of the triple feminicide, would have limited himself to saying during the interrogation. The man reconstructed with the investigators what happened the night before. “I remember that a Cuban woman arrived at my house – he added – and we consumed drugs, then the next day I made an appointment in via Riboty”.
Rome, stabbed three women in a few hours
A candle, a ceramic angel and a vase with flowers in front of the red door of Martha Castano Torres, one of the three women killed on Thursday in Rome. A small memento for “a very good person”, as remembered by Tony and Monica, who have their own business two doors down from the victim’s apartment. “We said a prayer – they say – he had the worst death”.
