(ANSA) – BIANCO, OCTOBER 31 – The Carabinieri of the Compagnia di Bianco arrested two young people of 21 and 23 years of Ukrainian nationality accused of being the smugglers of the landing of 56 migrants which took place on 21 October last in Seminara, on the Tyrrhenian coast of Reggio. .
The two Ukrainians were blocked while walking along the 106 Ionian highway after the boat on which they had tried to escape, due to adverse sea conditions, ran aground. In recent days the two alleged smugglers had not been able to undertake, due to bad weather, the return journey to the place from which they had departed, presumably a port in Turkey.
The arrest of the two Ukrainians was validated by the Locri Public Prosecutor’s Office. The crime they are accused of is aiding and abetting illegal immigration. (HANDLE).
