(ANSA) – NORCIA (PERUGIA), OCTOBER 30 – At 7.40 o’clock, in Piazza San Benedetto, Norcia recalled the great earthquake that struck the city and central Italy in 2016.
“It is the fifth anniversary and it is the most important because it marks the real start of the reconstruction of our city”, said the mayor Nicola Alemanno, who welcomed, among others, the undersecretary for sport Valentina Vezzali, the head of the Department of Protection civilian, Fabrizio Curcio, the extraordinary commissioner for reconstruction, Giovanni Legnini and the president of the Umbria Region, Donatella Tesei.
All, together with a large group of citizens, gathered around the Benedictine monks who for the occasion came down from San Benedetto in Monte to remember what happened on the morning of five years ago. (HANDLE).
