(ANSA) – BARI, OCTOBER 29 – The new Covid-19 infections in the province of Bari have almost doubled, the weekly ASL report highlights: the new positivity goes from a weekly rate of 9.4 to 17.3 per 100 thousand inhabitants. In total, the infections from 18 to 24 October were 213, against 116 in the previous week. “The increase in cases – the ASL writes in the report – refers to the age group under 12 who, currently, cannot be vaccinated.
Throughout the territory, however, there are 13 municipalities with “zero cases” and 21 with a number of positivity reduced to a minimum and distributed between 1 and 5, a sign that the fluctuations remain confined to fairly limited areas “. In the last seven days they were administered almost 17 thousand doses of the vaccine, with a constant increase in the “booster” doses which now represent over 50% of the vaccinations performed.
In total, the anti-Covid vaccination campaign reached 1 million and 973,618 administrations, of which 24,928 third doses ensured to immunocompromised and frail subjects, guests and operators of residential structures, health personnel and all those who have completed the cycle for at least six months and fall within the age group from 60 onwards. The coverage of the vaccinable population over 12 is 90% with at least one dose of vaccine and 87% for the full cycle, with a particularly high peak in the city of Bari, where 92% of residents have taken the first dose and almost nine out of ten citizens (89%) have concluded.
