A preventive seizure for over 700 thousand euros was ordered by the Cagliari investigating judge against Renato De Martin, 60, sole director of Delmar Hospital srl, a company with operational headquarters in Reggio Calabria and legal base in Rome, as part of the investigation by the Public Prosecutor of the Sardinian capital on the health protection devices against Covid purchased by the Sardinia Region.

The first investigation exploded in October last year with the arrest of the entrepreneur, who ended up under house arrest on charges of fraud in public supplies. Shortly after the man had been released from prison by decision of the Court of Cagliari, to which his lawyers had turned, obtaining the cancellation of the precautionary measure. On that occasion, the supply of 4 million masks paid for by the Sardinian Region was contested.

The same dispute referred to in the preventive seizure requested and obtained now by the prosecutor Giangiacomo Pilia in this second line of investigation, this time relating to the purchase of overalls and overalls which, for the prosecution, would not have corresponded to what was agreed with the contracting body, as they do not comply with the requirements of the community and national legislation governing the particular sector.

In addition, both Renato De Martin and Delmar Hosptial the Prosecutor assumes the crime of fraud. According to the calculations carried out by the investigators of the Guardia di Finanza, the overalls and overalls that do not meet the legal requirements would amount to 714,365 thousand euros.
