Seven people arrested by the carabinieri of the Eur company and by the Central Investigative Unit of the Penitentiary Police who carried out a precautionary custody order issued by the Gip of Rome at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office. Among them also a prison police officer, who ended up under house arrest. According to investigators, the policeman, already suspended as a precautionary measure, acted as an intermediary between the inmates and the outside to facilitate the illegal introduction into the prison of what was requested of him.

The seven arrested (5 in prison and 2 under house arrest) are seriously suspected, for various reasons, of “drug dealing in competition, introduction of devices suitable for communication and corruption for acts contrary to their duties”.
The investigative activity would have made it possible to ascertain the existence of drug trafficking, cell phones and SIM cards introduced illegally and repeatedly inside the prison in Rome Rebibbia. The request for drugs and phone cards would have come from some inmates who dealt with the subsequent resale in the G8 ward of the Roman prison.
In reconstructing the supply chain and the acquisition of drugs from the outside, among other things, the involvement of the relatives of some prisoners emerged who, among other things, used “interview packages” to introduce drugs and sim cards. .
