Opera singer is ready to go to jail instead of Saakashvili

The world famous opera singer Paata Burchuladze appealed to the Georgian authorities with a proposal to put him in prison. In return, he demands to be hospitalized the third president of the country Mikheil Saakashvili to one of the multidisciplinary clinics of the civil sector.

“Everything has a limit! You can’t tolerate it anymore! I don’t want to become an accomplice in the assassination of the third president.” Georgian Dream, you break the law in everything: you misappropriate lost elections, catch innocent people and try them in your own court. Please, break the law again and give me the opportunity to replace the third president in prison. Give him the opportunity to be treated in a multifunctional hospital. “– said the singer.

Burchuladze asked to take into account his request, adding that he will fly to Georgia today.

“So you will do two great things: do not include Georgia in the list of wild countries and give great pleasure to Bidzina Ivanishvili – he will have two prisoners at the same time, whom he cannot stand”, – he said.

What is known about Burchuladze

It should be noted that Paata Burchuladze, an opera singer, philanthropist (founder of the Iavnana charity foundation) and UN Goodwill Ambassador, took an active part in politics several years ago. In 2016, he founded the State for the People party, which, however, failed to get into parliament, receiving only 3.5% of the vote in the elections. Later Burchuladze announced that he was leaving the political arena.

Detention of Saakashvili

• The ex-president of Georgia arrived in the country 8 years after he left it. He intended to support his party in the elections. Upon his arrival, information appeared that they were preparing to arrest him.
• Saakashvili was nevertheless detained in Georgia. The law enforcement agencies had preliminary information about his transfer from Ukraine to Georgia, and this process took place under full control.
• Subsequently, the media began to publish the first footage of the arrest of the former president of Georgia. According to the general director of the Mtavari Archi TV company Nika Gvaramiya, Saakashvili was detained in Tbilisi.
• The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry demanded explanations from the Georgian Embassy about the grounds and circumstances of the detention of Ukrainian citizen Mikheil Saakashvili.
• President Volodymyr Zelenskyy promised that Ukraine will do everything possible to release the head of the Executive Committee of Reforms Mikheil Saakashvili.
• The Prime Minister of Georgia named the condition for Mikheil Saakashvili’s return to Ukraine.
• The politician went on a hunger strike, and because of this, his health deteriorated sharply. He stated that he had lost 15 kg behind bars. Saakashvili started having problems with motor skills and diction.
• On October 20, it became known that a council of doctors recommended that Saakashvili be hospitalized. The next day they were going to transfer him to the prison hospital, but everything fell through.
• On October 27, Saakashvili met with Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisova in prison. He later refused medical attention.
• On November 1, in a new newsletter, Saakashvili said that he was continuing his hunger strike, and he also called on Georgians to new resistance to the authorities.
• Irakli Kobakhidze, chairman of the Georgian Dream party in power, said that Mikheil Saakashvili was imitating a hunger strike.
• Mikheil Saakashvili’s mother, Giuli Alasania, told in an interview with the Segodnya correspondent that the hunger strike greatly affected the health of her son, and all the criminal cases against him were falsified.
