There are many church traditions and folk signs on this day. What is possible and what is not recommended to do on the Green holidays, GLOBAL HAPPENINGS figured out.

In churches on the Trinity, traditional festive liturgies are performed. It is customary to remember those who have already gone into the light. Believers also pray for the living and ask for their protection and health.

The most important and ancient tradition is the decoration of dwellings with green plants – the history of Green holidays goes back to pagan times and the plant cult. According to legends, on the Trinity, greenery can protect the family from illnesses, failures and drive away evil forces from the house. It has long been said that herbs collected during and on the eve of the Green Holidays have healing properties – teas and tinctures were brewed from them. In general, the greenery of this day symbolizes the flowering of nature and the beginning of a new summer cycle.

Morning dew was also considered healing. The girls had an interesting tradition: going out into the field at dawn, they washed themselves with cool dew. Thus, according to legend, one can improve health, recover from diseases and preserve natural beauty.

Our ancestors on this day followed our ancestor. The people believed that it was on Green holidays that evil forces wake up in rivers, lakes and all open reservoirs – mermaids and water ones. They can “pull to the bottom” if a person decides to take a chance and swim for a holiday.
