Green pass: police officers, ‘stop taking risks with the violent’

(ANSA) – VENICE, 08 NOV – A group of about forty policemen from the mobile department took to the street this morning in front of the Padua Celere barracks to protest against the management of agents in the garrison of the demonstrations and the ‘no green pass’ processions which have been taking place in Italian squares for months. The department according to Celere of Padua guarantees personnel not only in the Euganean city, but also for the protests that take place in Trieste and in other centers of the Triveneto.
“We ask that the Ministry of the Interior intervene as soon as possible because the agents are at the end of their strength. The policemen risk their lives in the face of increasingly aggressive and violent demonstrators” explain the trade unionists of the Sap and Fsp.
“Grueling shifts, little attention to distances away – they add – absence of rest and holidays; the No Pass events are added to the many commitments of the agents who are experiencing a continuous emergency on their skin”. In Padua, the union representatives explained, there are 450 agents in the mobile department, “and already 130 have asked to be transferred to other offices, the situation is unsustainable”.
