Ukreximbank welcomed a participant in an attack on journalists with a standing ovation (video)

Employees of Ukreximbank greeted Igor Telbizov, who was reinstated in the post of director of banking security, with a thunderous ovation, who was accused of attacking Schem journalists.

Telbizov thanked his colleagues for their support and said that “the best crash test could not be passed in any organization.”

“Many thanks to all of you for the support that you have provided during this entire difficult period … Thanks to the team that made the top banks in Ukraine out of this crap box,” he said.

On November 9, the director of the banking security department Igor Telbizov and the head of the internal security department of the bank Oleg Osipov were reinstated. The order stated the completion of an internal investigation at the bank.

“In accordance with the current labor and criminal procedure legislation, the receipt by an employee of the status of a suspect / accused in criminal proceedings is not a legal basis for their suspension from work or termination of labor relations with them. Considering this, on November 9, 2021, the head of the Department of Internal Security Oleg Osipov and director Department of Banking Security Igor Telbizov returned to the performance of their official duties, “- said in the decision.

What happened?

• On October 4, Schem journalists reported about the attack at Ukreximbank during the recording of an interview with the head of the board of this financial institution, Yevhen Metzger, right in his office. Metzger did not like one of the questions of the investigative journalist Kirill Ovsyany, after which he ordered the guards to “remove the cameras” and “get the tapes out of them.” The journalist was able to record what was happening on audio.
• Representatives of the editorial office, having arrived at the scene, called the police and wrote a statement about obstruction of journalistic activities. The state-owned Ukreximbank accused the Schem journalists of attempting to illegally seize information with limited access and added that it plans to turn to law enforcement officers.
• On the fact of obstruction of the professional activities of journalists, law enforcement officers began criminal proceedings.
• Igor Telbizov passed as a defendant in criminal proceedings. The investigation qualified his actions under two criminal articles: 171st and 126th. After the scandal with the attack on journalists, Igor Telbizov was temporarily removed from his post.
