Ukraine not only strengthens the border with Belarus due to the possible influx of migrants who are now “storming” Poland, but also prepares the population of the border regions for a possible confrontation with illegal immigrants. Minister of Internal Affairs Denis Monastyrsky told about this in the program “Right to Power”.
According to him, in tactical terms, approximately ten areas have been identified where the main approach of migrants to the state border of Ukraine can take place. In these areas, border guards will be reinforced by the National Guard and the police. But that’s not all – at a recent meeting of the NSDC they decided to prepare ordinary Ukrainians from territorial defense.
“The Minister of Defense supported this idea, and the President supported it – to conduct exercises on territorial defense in these areas. In addition, I instructed the police to raise all public formations for the protection of public order and the state border that exist in these territories, who have the right to carry traumatic weapons – and we have issued more than 200 thousand of them. There should be appropriate registers. These people should be summoned for training, which should take place at the Ukrainian-Belarusian border within the next month. “– said Monastyrsky.
The minister noted that Ukraine will act on its border in a similar way to the Lithuanians and Poles, who were the first to face migration terror.
“That is, the determination of places of concentration (migrants) – intelligence will inform where. If migrants are sent in the direction of Ukraine, where exactly they are moving. And it is there that mobile groups will be in a matter of minutes. The main goal is to prevent a massive breakthrough of the state border. “, – stressed the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Migration threat for Ukraine
