(ANSA) – CAGLIARI, NOV 16 – There are over 30 interventions carried out by the firefighters of the Provincial Command of Cagliari for the damage caused by the wave of bad weather, also confirmed by the orange alert issued yesterday by the Regional Civil Protection, which continued during the night on the Cagliaritano and South Sardinia.

The areas particularly affected are Cagliari and Quartu Sant’Elena, where flooding and fallen trees have been recorded.

During the night, the firefighters rescued a person who was stuck in a car surrounded by water in a parking lot in the Sant’Elia district.

Interventions for collapsing walls of three uninhabited houses, two in Quartu in via Dante and via Vittorio Emanuele and Cagliari, in Pirri in via Lorenzo il Magnifico.

Also in Pirri, Viale Italia is still closed to traffic.

Problems also along the connecting roads. Other areas of Pirri flooded, but also via San Bartolomeo, there are municipal police officers at work.

At 6.20 along the provincial road 17, the coastal road that leads to Villasimius, at kilometer 29,500 the carabinieri of the Compagnia di San Vito intervened for the fall of a boulder. One of the lanes is closed and there are severe slowdowns. At kilometer 23,200 of the same road there was a subsidence of the road surface. Limited circulation also along the four lanes of the state road 195 from kilometer 15 to 28 due to flooding. Still along the same road at kilometer 58,500, the rain brought debris onto the asphalt which is creating traffic problems.

The Cagliari firefighters will continue to work all day as there are about fifty interventions for flooded cellars and garages. (HANDLE).
