Denisov was not allowed to visit Saakashvili – the Georgian authorities named the reason

The Ministry of Justice of Georgia explained why the Ukrainian Ombudsman Lyudmila Denisov was not allowed to visit the prisoner Mikhail Saakashvili… The department explains that the legislation of their country “does not provide for this.”

“Georgian legislation does not provide for the entrance (to the prison hospital – ed.) Of the Ukrainian ombudsman, and there is no such need, we do not have such an obligation. Accordingly, when a prisoner is in a medical institution, we must try to protect his health as much as possible. It is with this motive of the ombudsman until they let you in “– said the head of the Georgian Ministry of Justice Rati Bregadze.

At the same time, the minister explained why he had not yet met with Denisova. According to him, it would be good if the Ombudsman of Ukraine listened to the position of the Ministry of Justice before making unilateral statements after the last meeting with Saakashvili in prison no. 12 in the city of Rustavi.

“It would be nice if we met then, and she would listen to our position, and the position of both sides would be taken into account.”– said Bregadze.

Saakashvili’s state of health

• After the former president of Georgia went on a hunger strike, his health began to deteriorate. He lost 15 kilograms behind bars. Saakashvili also started having problems with motor skills and diction.
• The medical council made an urgent statement about the need to immediately transfer the politician to a hospital with multi-technology equipment. As a result, on November 8, Saakashvili was taken out of correctional colony No. 12 by helicopter.
• Later it became known that he had bloody vomiting and needed a gastroenterologist. However, for the second day already, the council has no access to Mikheil to carry out the corresponding procedures.
