(ANSA) – MOSSA, NOV 16 – The fire extinguishing operations that broke out yesterday afternoon continued throughout the night in the disused industrial warehouse in Mossa (Gorizia), transformed over the years into an illegal landfill for large bales of plastic and also a center for investigations by the police.
This morning some outbreaks were still active and the dismantling work began.
In addition to the teams already present on site – about fifteen, also from the Udine and Trieste commands – the GOS (Special Operational Group) nucleus of the Udine Fire Brigade command also arrived in Gorizia, which started operations with earthmoving vehicles for the removal of materials deposited inside the burned sheds.
These operations are expected to be lengthy, in consideration of the large amount of deposited material and the danger of collapsing of the burned structures.
The ARPA continued monitoring the substances released into the atmosphere for the whole morning. The Carabinieri, together with the experts of the fire brigade, are engaged in an attempt to trace the causes of the fire. (HANDLE).
