(ANSA) – CAGLIARI, NOVEMBER 16 – The regional civil protection has issued a new warning of adverse weather conditions due to rain and thunderstorms in Sardinia, valid until noon tomorrow, Wednesday 17 November. On the central-western Mediterranean, we read in the bulletin, there is a cyclonic system characterized by closed minima, both on the ground and at high altitude, currently located between Sardinia and Africa. Hot air of African origin, entering from the Strait of Sicily, is feeding the system, while colder air descends towards the western Mediterranean.
On Sardinia, scattered precipitations are expected, also of a downpour or thunderstorm character, on the southern and eastern sectors. In particular, on the eastern one it will be possible to reach locally very high accumulations in 24 hours, with the possibility of strong, isolated or scattered thunderstorms. (HANDLE).
