In Rivne region, police are ready for an enhanced regime of service near the border with Belarus due to the threat of a “breakthrough” of migrants.
This was reported by the press service of the GUNP.
“The situation on these border sections of the Rivne region is now calm and controlled, and the personnel of the power units are ready for a possible intensified service.”– said the head of the National Police of Ukraine Igor Klimenko.
Law enforcers have already checked more than 800 abandoned buildings in the border areas and identified the locations if additional forces are involved. The main goal of strengthening the regime is to prevent the migration crisis and mass riots.
Gonna attract reservists
In addition, in several communities of Volyn, due to the tension on the Ukrainian-Belarusian border, they are going to hand over summons to reservists, TSN reports. Although groups of illegal migrants in the region have not yet been recorded, the border guards and the military are preparing for possible provocations, and therefore they are strengthening security.
An additional rapid reaction brigade of the National Guard moved to the northern and western borders the day before. Dog handlers, drones and aviation were involved in monitoring the regions bordering on Belarus.
In total, an additional 8.5 thousand border guards, national guards and police are planned to be transferred there. In the communities of Volyn, they plan to place military and security officials in gyms and clubs. There are also tents in the fields.
