The off-limits area at night starts from Sotto Lentia, near the Enel power station, up to the Vulcanello isthmus. About 250 families have already moved to prevent them from breathing carbon dioxide and other gases at night. The families will move to the houses of Piano, Gelso and Vulcanello which researchers and Civil Protection have considered “safe places”. During the day – however – life normally continues in the port area and its surroundings, even with shops and bars open. In Vulcano, due to the trade union ordinance, tourists cannot disembark for 30 days, while commuters can do it for work. At least 15 Cri volunteers and 4 civil protection volunteers are present daily.

Strengthened the staff of the carabinieri arrived from the company of Milazzo to also guarantee an anti-looting service.

The ARPA and the firefighters continue the mapping of the island and above all the verification in the houses that have several floors to ascertain whether families will be able to avoid traveling. (HANDLE).
