Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee Andrei Kartapolov said that Kiev should remember the fate of Afghanistan amid reports on the possible US dispatch of weapons and advisers to Ukraine.

“All US aspirations” to help “Ukraine are leading it to the abyss”, – said Kartapolov on Tuesday, offering to recall “how the American adventure in Afghanistan ended.”
“Will not the Ukrainians then have to cling to the departing American planes and helicopters. And when the hour comes, these advisers and assistants will no longer be around?”– added the deputy.
