(ANSA) – ROME, NOV 22 – First taste of winter with the first snowfalls already today on the alpine areas around 1500m of altitude.

The week begins with very unstable weather, many clouds and rains scattered over much of the North, over the Tyrrhenian area of the Center and also over many regions of the South and the first snowfalls.
On Tuesday isolated rainfall will still wet western Piedmont (snow at 1000m) and most of the central regions; things will improve in the rest of the country, in particular in the Northeast and in the lower Tyrrhenian area where you can enjoy a few hours of sunshine. A second, more insidious, worsening will reach Italy between 24 and 25 November. Just Thursday will be the worst day with bad weather throughout the country: rains at times even heavy in the North, in the Tyrrhenian sector of the Center and in the Ionian area where storms will be possible.
Thanks to the influx of colder winds from the northern quadrants, the snowfall in the north will drop to around 1000 meters and on the highest peaks of the northern Apennines. From Friday the snow level will also drop on the central Apennines where it will make its appearance until around 1300 meters.
In detail Monday 22. In the north: overcast sky with rain. Center: bad weather in Sardinia and then from the Tyrrhenian to the Adriatic regions. In the south: bad weather in Campania and Sicily, locally on Salento.
Tuesday 23. In the north: unstable in Piedmont with snow at 1000m in the Alps, sun elsewhere. Bora and Grecale. In the center: rains on Lazio, Abruzzo and Molise. South: unstable especially in Campania.
Wednesday 24. In the north: mostly sunny. In the center: rains on Lazio, Abruzzo, Molise, in the evening it gets worse on Sardinia. In the south: rains on Campania and Basilicata, more sun elsewhere.
