The man had been subjected to house arrest last August after the woman complained, who, during a civil separation proceeding, had asked for help from the carabinieri because she was forced to suffer daily harassment, threats, insults as well as persecutory acts. which forced her to live in a constant state of anxiety and fear. Subsequently, however, the 39-year-old had been replaced by house arrest with a ban on approaching the injured person. From that moment the woman began to receive continuous messages and phone calls from her ex-husband, who, according to the accusation, tried in every way to meet her, up to the most serious of the episodes: the man tried to approach her while she was in a supermarket parking lot, telling her that if she didn’t leave Calabria, he would kill her. Now exhausted, the victim turned to the carabinieri, who collected his complaint and reported all the incidents to the judicial authorities, activating the procedures of the “red code” to protect victims of gender violence. The Court, therefore, at the request of the public prosecutor, issued an aggravation order of precautionary measure carried out on the same day by the carabinieri, thus subjecting the man to house arrest for persecuting his ex-wife, as well as for not having complied with the prohibition of approaching the injured person, a measure to which he was already subjected for similar crimes committed against the woman.
