Russia “buries” the Minsk agreements – Kuleba named the main goal

Against the background of the concentration of Russian troops on the eastern borders of Ukraine and in Crimea, a deliberate disruption of the Minsk agreements by Moscow is taking place.

This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba in an interview with the German edition of Zeit.

“I think Russia would be glad if the agreements failed, because it would free her hands and give her more freedom of action. But we don’t want to give them that luxury.“, – said Kuleba to German journalists.

He noted that Russia constantly demands that Ukraine not violate the Minsk agreements, but in fact Russia is doing everything to ensure that these agreements are not implemented. The minister also noted that “there is only one alternative to diplomacy: war. And Ukraine does not strive for war.” Ukraine only needs the support of its Western partners, including weapons.

“Unfortunately, some states follow the Russian narrative that Ukraine does not need to be armed, because it can allegedly prompt us to launch a military strike. “– said the minister.

• In mid-November, Russian President Vladimir Putin, for example, said that the conflict in Donbass was far from being resolved, and also traditionally accused Ukraine of non-compliance with the agreements.
• It should be noted that, referring to the Minsk documents, Russia demands that Ukraine hold elections at gunpoint and a special status for ORDLO, but at the same time itself does not fulfill even the first points of “Minsk” – to stop shooting and leave Donbass.
• In early November at that time, the People’s Deputy from Servant of the People and candidate for the post of head of the Ministry of Reintegration Irina Vereshchuk said that the Minsk agreements are not a roadmap for the de-occupation and reintegration of Donbass.
• Meanwhile, a new message came from Donbass about the death of a Ukrainian soldier – a 29-year-old senior soldier, Alkhasli Ali Naib, was killed.
