“I am probably involved in the death of some people” – Butusov’s confession

On the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holodomor, the editor-in-chief of the Censor.net website, Yuri Butusov, posted a video in which he fired a cannon and admitted that he could be involved in the deaths of people in Donbass, more specifically, of militants.

The journalist posted the video on his Facebook page.

“I must admit that I can probably be involved in the deaths of some people in Donbass – but only in the deaths of the Russian invaders, terrorists and murderers of the Ukrainian people, “ – wrote Butusov.

Later, after a question appeared on social networks, whether Butusov was violating the peace agreements with his shooting, the journalist added that the video was filmed a very long time ago (the exact date was not specified). And this was not on the line of contact, but during the training of units of an unnamed territorial defense of one of the regions of Ukraine.

“This is definitely not the present time, since I am now in Kiev. There is nothing heroic in this video, a simple word for the day of the Holodomor. Filmed in strict accordance with applicable conventions and prohibitions“, – added the editor.

What preceded the cannon

• Two days before the video appeared, Yuri Butusov had an argument with President Volodymyr Zelensky during a press marathon.
• The editor of the website “Censor.net”, after being accused of provocation in Donbass, announced that he would be suing the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
• Butusov also actively comments on the scandal with the failed special operation to deliver to Ukraine a group of Russian militants from the Wagner PMC. In particular, he said that the state security was removed from the former head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Vasily Burba, who was in charge of the special operation, and he was forced to be guarded by foreign forces.
