(ANSA) – SYRACUSE, NOV 28 – The landing of the 461 migrants rescued by Sea Watch4 in various rescue operations in the Mediterranean ended tonight, two days after their arrival. The ship of the German NGO landed at the port of Augusta, in Syracuse, on Friday at 3 pm after the green light of the Interior Ministry for the safe landing place.

The health procedures envisaged to ascertain any cases of positivity to covid 19 started immediately: the NGO had also reported numerous cases of hypothermia. The doctors seem to have wanted to investigate a case of suspected tuberculosis, which later turned out to be unfounded. Immediately after carrying out all the tests, the procedures for disembarking and identifying all the migrants began. The first to get off were the 150 unaccompanied minors who were transferred to some reception centers in Sicily, between Syracuse and Agrigento. An Egyptian was taken to the hospital for some tests. The other 311 were instead transferred to the three quarantine ships that were at the port. (HANDLE).
