For the group of drug dealers on 21 September last arrests were triggered, as part of a proceeding coordinated by the deputy Giovanni Conzo. According to what was reconstructed by the investigators, the organization was divided into two groups: one was in charge of supplying the ethnic communities between Viale Marconi and Monteverde Nuovo, mainly selling shaboo, while the other group, headed by Beccaria, ran the Ghb shop, the “rape drug” for Italian customers. For 100 ml of the drug, customers, including a doctor and a university professor, were willing to spend up to 800 euros. Coded terms were used for the orders: “water” was the name by which the Ghb was called, but terms such as “Gilda” and “Mafalda”.
The investigation started after the arrest of a woman of Chinese nationality in October 2020. She was stopped at Termini station with a shaboo for a value of about 20 thousand euros. The synthetic drugs were supplied by a Chinese “wholesaler” based in Tuscany, which organized the transport and delivery of the narcotic to Rome. In particular, the substance arrived in the capital via Chinese couriers, which alternatively used railway vehicles or hired cars, dressed in designer clothes so as not to arouse suspicion.
