The head of the Executive Committee of Reforms Mikheil Saakashvili appealed to the Ukrainians from the court, and also refused to recognize the justice of Georgia.

“I want to inform you (Ukrainians) that torture and inhuman behavior was used against me, but I hold on and also learned this in Ukraine. I am very grateful to you,” he said.
Saakashvili explained that he had quit a prestigious and highly paid job in Ukraine out of great love for Georgia and he had an excellent idea of what might await him in his homeland.
“I put everything aside, refused – at least temporarily – and came. I knew for sure that I could be killed on the way or when I arrive … I do not recognize the prosecutor’s office and Georgian justice. I am not here to become a part of a pre-written comedy, “the politician said.
Saakashvili’s trial
- Today’s trial is related to the case in which Mikheil Saakashvili, David Kezerashvili, Zurab Adeishvili, Gigi Ugulava and Vano Merabishvili are accused of breaking up a rally, invading Imedi TV channel and seizing Mtatsminda Park.
- The day before, doctors diagnosed Saakashvili with a mental disorder, although it did not prevent him from taking part in the trial. Still, the former president of Georgia needs inpatient treatment.
- Recently Saakashvili recorded an appeal to the Georgian people, in which he said that Putin was doing everything to eliminate him, but by the hands of the Georgian authorities.
