The Pentagon announced an increase in the number of Russian troops near the border with Ukraine

The Pentagon said they continue to observe movement of Russian troops near the Ukrainian border. According to them, the number of military personnel has increased.

This was stated by the representative of the US Department of Defense John Kirby, reports Ukrinform.

He called on Russia to be “more transparent” about the actions and intentions of its forces. In addition, he stressed that the United States and its allies are serious about any steps aimed at escalation.

According to Kirby, the United States continues to watch with great concern the movement of troops of the aggressor country near the Ukrainian border.

“I can say that we continue to observe movement, we continue to see an increase in their strength.”– said the representative of the Pentagon.

Kirby also noted that the Russian forces near the Ukrainian border have a combined structure – they concentrate units of various types of troops.
