“I wanted to scare them” – Lukashenka explained why he picked up a machine gun

The self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that it was not for nothing that he came out against people with a machine gun in August 2020 and explained that he was ready to open fire and “demolish half of Minsk.”

The dictator said this in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“I wanted to scare them, of course. But they ran away. But if only they stormed the Palace of Independence, and there was a presidential command center, inside I had special forces, if only they rushed, we would defend the Palace of Independence, including with military weapons … I went out with a child and if against I was made some kind of violent attempt, would I watch? But only if they were shot at once. But I was not alone either. My guys were like that, there would be half of Minsk swept away these scoundrels. No people there“, – said Lukashenko on the air of the Russian propaganda agency.

The dictator also told why he does not consider people who tried to defend their legitimate choice with the help of street protests as people.

“They were not revolutionaries, they were cowards who were paid money and they walked there for several days, walked … Well, they drove them there, pushed them, and so on … But so, slightly … And they thought that we were going once again, the money was delivered to them“, – Lukashenka’s story his version of what happened after the falsification of the presidential elections.

Presidential phobia

Lukashenko also said that he did not want to be like Viktor Yanukovych – to be in Rostov.

“It began not with a machine gun, but with a helicopter approach. I turned around and flew along the avenue at a low altitude. Especially for them to see. Because, like Yanukovych, they announced that the president was overthrown, fled with the children (why was Kolya in a helicopter) to Rostov. He went out (with a gun – Ed.) Not with the same purpose as me, but as he later said – to protect dad“, – said Lukashenka.

• In the same interview, he enthusiastically stated that he considers Russian President Vladimir Putin a brother, since they see the world with the same eyes.
• Lukashenka also revealed a terrible secret that the Russian military took control of the Crimean peninsula “at the request of the Ukrainian servicemen.”
• Commenting on the migration crisis, Lukashenka said that the Belarusian security forces are so compassionate security officials that they could really help illegal migrants in the assault on the border with Poland.
